When your alter-ego is finished, pick a server and you're ready to start playing. Runes of Magic takes place in Tabor, a fantastic world inhabited by human and all sorts of mystic creatures. As you progress through Runes of Magic, you'll obtain better weapons, armor and other battle items that in turn will enable you to defeat more challenging creatures.

Generally speaking Runes of Magic is entertaining, but it doesn't really bring anything new to the RPG genre. Music is good, but graphics are rough and not well defined. Runes of Magic is a free MMORPG that may not have the same quality as other similar games, but lets you enjoy adventures in a fantasy land without paying a monthly fee. Best game I have ever played and I did not spend a dime. This game is so much fun if you know the right crowd and I didn't spend a dime at all.

There are instances in this game that have never been cleared, because they have literally been broken since the day they were released. But the worst part: 2 years into the game, the Devs decided to completely rework the entire mechanics of the game.

Mages, healers, and tanks have been nerfed into oblivion. It is literally impossible to run instances now, since healers are no longer capable of healing anything, and knights can tank for about 2 minutes before they run out of mana and lose aggro and the whole party wipes. Well I mentioned I wasn't including the patch time. Also when I downloaded it the file was only 4gb, and I used the individual files there were 5 of them.

Which still involved hitting download and walking away from the computer a bit. Anyway the point is any computer able to play the game probably won't have any effect on the download speed.
